39 Days

So last week was probably the MOST stressful so far wedding wise. My make-up lady canceled on me last minute for the wedding and bachelorette party, and as any bride knows with less than two months before the wedding I was going to be hard pressed to find someone that wasn't already booked up. I must have called over 100 make-up artists in North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee and everyone was booked on May 5th! Seriously, there cannot be THAT many couples getting married that day right? After crying and about having a few panic attacks a woman called me back from Up Do's and said that she was free for my bachelorette and the wedding. You better believe I booked her right then and there!

Also this warmer weather is worrying me. We are using peonies in all of our flower arrangements and bouquets and they ONLY bloom in May. Well this warm weather is messing with the blooms and there is a chance that they will bloom early and wont be available for our wedding. 

I also spent a good deal of time last week buying the "little details" for the reception. I got 20'' sparklers and matchbooks for our departure from the country club, made a photo guest book, and some super cute paper straws to put in the drinks. I know they aren't necessary, but I thinks it's the little things that
matter.

I also got handkerchiefs embroidered for gifts for my mom and dad. I think these will definitely come in handy during the ceremony!

 And to finish my list of little details I found these cute handwritten stamps for our thank you notes (to save my hand some unnecessary pain).

I still have a few things left to do, but for the most part the next 39 days should not be too stressful (hopefully!). The great thing is that no matter what may go wrong with the food, band, flowers, or whatever at the end of the day I will still be marrying my best friend.

57 Days and Counting!

It still has not hit me that we are going to be married in less than two months, but I am so excited for the big day to come! The month of March is going to be especially busy for us in the wedding planning area. We are traveling up to North Carolina for ONLY two days. And in that weekend we are getting our marriage license, having a second wedding dress fitting at Nitsa's, going through a make-up trial, having my bachelorette party, having a tea party themed linen shower, and packing up again to drive back home to Louisiana. It's going to be insane with no time to think! But, and I so super excited for my bachelorette party and shower. My girls and I are staying at a hotel in the Southpark area of Charlotte where we will eat at Cowfish (and sushi and burger infusion restaurant), then go for drinks and fun at Andrew Blair's. My shower is a tea party theme, check out these adorable invitations my maid of honor had made for the shower she is throwing!

Hopefully by the time the wedding gets here I will have everything done, but if not the most important (and only) thing that matters is that we will be married! I am so lucky to have William. I admire him so much in all that he does, and I thank the Lord everyday for bringing us together!

A Busy Final 3 Months

Just had my first bridal shower that my aunt and cousin hosted for me. It was amazing! I was thrilled with how many people showed up, and now I have a trailer-full of kitchen gift to take home to our new house.

I also spent about 2 hours stuffing and licking closed our invitations yesterday. I was excited to get them mailed off, but when I went to the post office to get them mailed I was told they were too large to go through regular mail and had to be sent as parcels! What a pain! They did turn out beautifully though!

This week I am meeting with my florist to go over things again, getting some bridals and our invitations matted and framed, having a make-up trial (yep still haven't found a make-up lady yet), booking our rehearsal dinner, and packing up my furniture to drive it down to Louisiana.
I finally booked my transportation, (we found a 1962 Rolls Royce to leave our reception in), and booked my ceremony music.

 I'm sure there is more I'm forgetting, but now that the three month mark has passed I'm running around like crazy trying to do everything with the little time I have.

I did it!!!!!

So this doesn't have anything to do with our wedding, but I am so excited I can't help writing an entry about it.


I got into LSU-Heath and Sciences Center!!!!!!!

School starts in May after the wedding, and I will graduate in August 2014 fully competent to treat, diagnose, prescribe medicine, assist in surgeries, and order and interpret tests! I interviewed on Monday and got an email on Wednesday saying that I had been chosen for one of the 36 spots. This year over 1,000 people applied to LSU's PA school, and I can't believe I was picked. I keep re-reading the email just to be sure that it is really happening.

The 4 Month Stretch

Tomorrow marks the 4 month mark for our wedding day. It hasn't really hit us yet that we are going to be a married couple in 120 days. I'm not as stressed as I thought I would be, it has actually been quite easy planning everything. Will of course is not stressed with wedding stuff (because he isn't doing anything).
I am mostly just looking forward to moving in our house and making it a home. We close on our house in 25 days, and thank goodness I have family members throwing me a bridal shower that very next week, because we are going to be in need of home goods!

Nothing much new has happened since I last wrote. We bought Will's wedding band and I met with my florists and wedding planner to go over the schedule. I am thinking of doing a formal wedding ceremony where the bride and groom actually sit down and kneel at different times. I really want Pastor Weisner to wear his formal garb, it is awesome! It will be similar to the Royal Wedding Ceremony for those of you who watched it. Except no singing hopefully (I'm not a big fan of Lutheran Hymns--they are more like chanting to me).

I also did a tasting of my wedding food and it was SOOO good! My favorite was the mini ham biscuits and the crab cakes yum-o! Hope y'all will enjoy the food as much as I did.

Less than 5 months until I'm a Mrs.

I can't believe how quickly this month has flown by! Will is finally home from traveling all over the United States closing banks, and it's great to be able to see him everyday. We haven't seen each other consistently since December 4th 2010 (That's over a year of doing the "long distance thing.") I am one happy fiance :)

Today I actually realized that I missed the "negative 5 month anniversary" of our wedding that was three days ago. To my defense I have been super busy "mind decorating" our house. What is mind decorating you ask? Well we just bought a beautiful home in Louisiana and since we don't close until the end of January I am decorating in my mind haha. That is how I spend most of my day. I'm either at Lowes planning home improvement ideas (like painting all the walls light brown- right now they are yellow), shopping on Pottery Barn for furniture (we have 3 living rooms only enough furniture for one), or on Pinterest looking at DIY home ideas.

So basically the update on our life...we bought a house (yay!) and only 5 months until our wedding (double yay!)

Wedding Ideas are Flowing!

So I picked up my Volume IV of Southern Wedding Magazine at Target this past week and I was delighted to see that they captured exactly what I had in mind for my wedding. After reading I have come up with many new ideas that I'll have to talk to my wedding planner about...sorry Tara! Here some are...
1. All drinks and passed food passed on silver platters during cocktail hour
2. Add mini fried green tomatoes and crab cakes with a dollop of remalaude to cocktail foods.
3. serve the mint juleps in silver cups and the other cocktail drinks served in mason jars
4. wrap my bouquet in my old bonnet that my mother turned into a handkerchief as my something old
5. hang wooden monograms on church doors
