Finally!

After long deliberation with my ladies we have chosen the bridesmaid dresses yay! I decided that even though I prefer the long dresses, it is more practical for them to buy short ones that are cute enough to wear again. And are they ever! Jcrew makes great bridesmaid/party dresses. Matched with some pearls and heels they are going to look beautiful, not that they don't all the time.

My Cake

I have decided on my baker for the wedding cake! She owns Sugarplumb Fairy Cakes in Statesville and does ah-maze-ing work! Here is an example of a cake she did for another bride at the country club and I am totally using the idea for mine. Just changing the monogram of course!

The Gentlemen

Although I love to focus on the fashion for my girls and I cannot forget the groom and his men! I was hoping Will would wear his seersucker suit for the wedding, but he insists on wearing his tux. I can't complain though because he looks so handsome in it. He and his men are going to keep it southern with printed bow ties and cotton boutonnieres. Presh! Maybe I'll get our little ring bearer to wear some seersucker.

Bridesmaids dresses

As many of my friends and family members know I am obsessed with Lilly Pulitzer. I own Lilly clothes, luggage, pencils, agendas, koozies, coolers, wallet, key chains, shoes, photo frames...well you get the picture! Why not incorporate my love of lilly into my wedding? I do not want it to be obnoxiously pink and green but I am using pale hues of both along with ever classic white. So I figured I can use my bridesmaid's dresses to bring in some fun lilly! Here are some of the lilly dresses that I love for my girls to wear. The middle one is Jcrew and I love it too!

Flower Power

After working with my wedding planner we have picked out the perfect flowers for my May wedding. We are going to have magnolias, hydrangeas, tulips, peonies, and garden roses in light pink, white, and light green. The men will wear cotton boll boutonnieres and southern proper bow ties to match!
The tables with our "short" arrangements will have multiple silver mint julep cups filled with flowers, while our tall arrangements will be in really tall silver vases.

Save the Date!

My mother and I visited the stationary store to pick out my save the dates. After looking through books and books of samples I ended up going with a very basic white card stock with calligraphy. The writing will be in navy blue with a light pink envelope to use my wedding colors. I wanted to keep it completely classic and timeless.
These are very similar to the save the dates I ordered. Beautiful right?

Our Date

The date has finally been set! After moving it from December 2012 in New Orleans, we have decided on May 5th (or cinco de mayo/ or Kentucky Derby Day) for our Carolina wedding! We are so excited to finally have the date set and can now begin our real planning!

Also on another happy note, Monique Lhuillier has just finished making my dress and it should be in Nitsa's Apparel by the end of the month! I hope I haven't gained any weight and can still fit into it! Check out this barbie. She is wearing a Monique gown as well; too cute!
